Each placemat features a water-resistant, laminate coating that will protect your table surface from mishaps for years to come!

This pack contains four placemats which are heat resistant up to 90 degrees Celsius and have a sturdy, cork backing to make sure that they are non-slip as well as protecting your furniture from scratches. Each placemat is decorated with the iconic pimpernel pattern, designed by William Morris in 1876 for use in his own home. This gorgeous floral pattern features entwined pale-green foliage and cream pimpernel plants with little yellow flowers and dainty grey leaves, set against a deep purple background.

Great for celebrating any occasion, this set of four placemats makes a wonderful Christmas, birthday or new home gift for any fan of William Morris. Pair with matching trays and mugs from the same range to make an extra special gift for any friend or loved one.

About the William Morris range

William Morris, artist, philosopher, poet and political theorist, was one of the most outstanding influential designers of the Arts and Crafts movement. Through his company, Morris and Co he produced some of the most fashionable and exciting textiles and wallpapers of the late 19th century. He found his inspiration in nature and Medieval art, but also employed the very characteristic Victorian taste for heavily detailed patterns and deep, sometimes earthy colours. Because of their artistry and timeless and classic, natural feel, Morris's designs have been consistently popular since his death in 1896.
