The butter dish itself compromises of both the base plate for laying a block of butter on and a covering which includes a spherical handle on top to easily cover and uncover the dish for use. This butter dish is suitable for holding standard sized blocks of wrapped butter, lard or margarine for everyday use, formal occasions or baking.

A cheeky young calf sticking his tongue out graces the front side of the butter dishes lid whilst on the other side is a black and white cow munching away on some grass. Lift the lid to reveal the plate which is decorated with an illustration of a calf with a butterfly perched on its rear end. Painted in soft watercolour brushstrokes, the designs are surrounded by trademark black speckles synonymous with the Wrendale brand.

Hannah is an ex-stockbroker turned farmer’s wife who, inspired by her rural married life, embraced her artistic roots and began painting the animals in the landscape around her.
