Each of the placemats features a different Wrendale illustration on one side, which is set against a pale green background with a darker green trim. These designs are all painted in the beautiful soft watercolour style of Hannah Dale and are surrounded by speckles of black paint, in a way that is very synonymous with the Wrendale brand. These include:

• ‘He’s a Fun-Gi’ - A fluffy harvest mouse with long whiskers, beady eyes and an elongated tail. The mouse sat upon red and white toadstools.
• ‘Purrrfect’ – A little tabby cat who has fallen asleep in a plant pot full of flowers. The cat has caught the attention of three field mice which inquisitively look at the knocked over plants that the cat has moved, or sat on, to make itself comfy. Next to the cat is a basket of veggies including tomatoes, radishes and carrots.
• ‘Sleeping On The Job’ – An adorable black and white border collie who has fallen asleep, in a wheelbarrow full of flowers and vegetables. A bunch of carrots are hanging from the wheelbarrow, and they’ve caught the attention of a pair of bunnies.
• ‘Grow your Own’ - An adorable little bunny rabbit with bright eyes and pricked ears who sits in a little allotment patch, surrounded by carrots, radishes, and garden vegetables aplenty.

Wrendale Designs

The wonderful Wrendale Designs collection is inspired by the animal characters seen in the British countryside, farmyard and home, as well as more exotic creatures. Featuring original artwork produced by much-loved Lincolnshire artist Hannah Dale, each image is delicately painted with soft brushwork, subtle colours and her signature speckles of black paint.

Hannah is an ex-stockbroker turned farmer’s wife who, inspired by her rural married life in the English countryside, embraced her artistic roots and began painting the animals in the landscape around her. Since then Wrendale Designs has expanded into a family business and the collection has grown over the years, ranging from stationery to homeware, accessories to storage tins, clothing to ceramicware from British brand Portmeirion, all featuring artwork touched with the magic of Hannah’s watercolour brush.
